Hi, I’m Cat! I’m a Freshman majoring in Film, and I am incredibly excited to be Editor-in-Chief of the Star this year :D
I founded the Ringling News Magazine club this year alongside my partner, Robert Van Horn, and we’re hoping that we’ll be able to bring more of a journalism presence that the school seems to be lacking right now. Our biggest goal is for the Star to help people — students, teachers, families, and outsiders alike — be less confused about what’s happening on campus, as well as for all to be able to take a glimpse at what Ringling life is like from the perspective of students themselves.
We want to give a voice to those who aren’t heard, and connect the isolated.
I personally love writing about current events and major news that I feel are relevant on both a global scale and a local scale, but I also will never pass up an opportunity to cover niche corners of our campus culture to shine a light on clubs or student groups that might not be very well known otherwise. I look forward to working with this wonderful group of people and can’t wait to see what the future holds for our staff! ✮
